Anyone who does not respect our democracy has no place in Congress.
Senators like Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley made it clear with their votes that they don’t care how America voted — they care about their money, their power, and their fame.
If they cared, they would have certified our democratic election. They wouldn't have amplified the lie. They would have acted with integrity, but they didn't.
They care about themselves and their political ambition — no matter the cost to our democracy or lives lost as a result. If these Senators refuse to turn in their pins or if the Senate won’t expel them, we will organize and win the old fashioned way.
Georgia showed us what we have to do. Just like Georgia, we know that states like Texas and Missouri are not red states, they are voter suppressed states.
But it took years of organizing in Georgia with Black women leading the way to flip the state. That’s why we must support the deep canvassing work in states like Texas and Missouri, starting now.
If these Senators won’t resign, we will organize and vote them out in an election. Josh Hawley took his seat from a Democrat, and we can take it right back. But that is only possible if we invest in deep organizing on the ground.
That’s why we’re partnering with Missouri Jobs with Justice and Organization for Black Struggle in Missouri, and Mi Familia Vota and Texas Organizing Project in Texas. Each of these organizations are doing the essential work to build progressive organizing power and create the same momentum in Texas and Missouri as organizers did in Georgia.
The only way that our country is going to heal is through the liberation of voter suppressed states. This is our moment to start building on the serious groundwork laid in Georgia and throughout the country.
Together we can continue to sustain the work it takes to organize and win in states that have been left behind for far too long, and defeat those who do not belong in the United States Senate.
