John,
We emailed you the other day about a new statement — issued in wake of the assault on the Capitol on January 6 and in advance of the inauguration on January 20 — from Issue One’s bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity that called for holding those who encouraged and participated in the insurrection accountable, including President Trump, and enacting reforms to strengthen our democracy.
To turn up the pressure, the council also launched digital ads in the Washington Post, New York Times, Politico, Axios, The Hill, and other media outlets urging Americans to “imagine a new path forward.” We need to reach more people with this message — and we need your help!

The assault that took place on the U.S. Capitol last week was horrific. But this attack didn’t break our democracy — Congress still counted the Electoral College votes as required, and a new president and vice president will be inaugurated on January 20.
It’s clear, though, that threats to our democracy remain and that our nation must imagine a new path forward. We need to fight for game-changing political reforms to strengthen our election systems, bolster ethics laws, hold lawmakers accountable to their constituents rather than moneyed interests, and so much more.
We need to spread the word about creating a democracy that works for everyone. And we can’t do it without you.
Donate today to help us “imagine a new path forward.”
