Job Opening at WOLA: President

 
After 26 years in various roles at WOLA, our current president, Geoff Thale, will be retiring.  Please help us in our search for the next leader of WOLA. 

The Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), an influential Washington, DC based organization advocating for human rights in the Americas, seeks a new president with a proven track record of successful leadership. The president collaborates with WOLA’s staff, its board of directors and partners in Latin America to advance WOLA’s critical human rights and social justice mission.
 
We are looking for a candidate to lead WOLA’s management team to implement programmatic, communications, and fund-raising strategies. The president is responsible for the financial well-being of the organization and fostering an ethical, collegial, and motivated workplace culture committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in achieving WOLA’s goals.
 
Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of Latin America and its culture, languages, history, and human rights challenges, as well as familiarity with WOLA’s advocacy work. Candidates must be able to readily represent WOLA before policy makers, donors, and the media. They should have proven non-profit management and organizational experience. As well as demonstrate the strategic vision, knowledge and experience to serve as an outstanding thought leader and advocate on human rights in the Americas.
