Late last week, President-elect Joe Biden finished naming his final cabinet picks, announcing the members of his economic team. He also pushed for more spending to help the unemployed and small businesses, saying, “Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild.”

Video of Biden announcing priorities for government help was posted on Twitter by the Biden-Harris transition team. The response was not good, as the tweet had more than 2.6 thousand retweets and13.6 thousand quote tweets, mostly with negative comments.

Last Friday, Twitter permanently suspended President Trump’s Twitter account and banned him from ever again using the platform.

In an explanation of its decision, Twitter said that it took the action because of the president’s potential to “incite violence.”

If Twitter will ban the sitting president of the United States for that tweet, one must ask why they will not bar truly dangerous accounts. Here are just five accounts that are from people or organizations that repeatedly “incite violence” both on and off social media.

The Reverend Raphael Warnock has been the pastor of the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the congregation that Dr. Martin Luther King pastored far too long ago. The Reverend is now Senator Warnock with his victory over Republican incumbent Kelly Loeffler last week in Georgia’s widely watched run-off election. The new Senator has some very interesting ideas about the kind of politics he will be bringing with him to our nation’s capital which he clearly believes derive from his Christian faith.

Preaching from the New Testament Book of Acts, Warnock told his congregation directly: “The early church was a socialist church.” He added, “The early church was much closer to socialism than to capitalism. Go back and read the Bible.”
