John,

President Trump was just impeached by the House for inciting an insurrection but the 147 members of Congress who helped spread his baseless lies about a stolen election still haven't been held accountable.

We must show these members that they can’t get away with betraying and endangering the American people — or else we teach future would-be insurrectionist lawmakers they can act with impunity. Call on House and Senate leadership to censure these 147 members, formally and permanently marking them for their betrayal of the American people.

Demand a censure vote to condemn the 147 lawmakers. Call Congressional leadership.

A censure vote will officially and forcefully condemn these lawmakers for what they've done. It'll leave a permanent stain on their mark in history and send a stark warning to anyone else who might sell out the American people for selfish partisan gain: You will not get away with threats to our democracy.

We already called on these members to renounce their betrayal and apologize for their actions — but none of them have stepped up and taken responsibility. If they're not going to own up to their role in inciting a riot, we need congressional leadership to do it for them.

So take two minutes to defend our Republic: Call the House and Senate leadership and demand they hold a vote to censure the members of Congress who tried to overturn the election results. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Mitch McConnell are listening to the American people as they try to determine their next moves. That’s why they need to hear from you, right now.

We all watched in horror as our democracy was attacked on January 6th. And with each passing day, we’re seeing just how close we came to an even more deadly and violent attack. Our democracy is fragile, and it will only survive if we the people take peaceful action to defend and uphold it.

Thank you,

Meara
