Reflecting on the impact of the CF community
Reflecting on the impact of the CF community
Dear Advocate,

In a year unmatched by any other, the cystic fibrosis community continued to demonstrate resilience and determination. Despite significant challenges, your voices played a unique and critical role in driving forward the Foundation’s advocacy efforts. Together, we worked to support people with CF during the pandemic, and helped ensure continued access to high quality, specialized care.
Since April, you’ve sent more than 31,000 messages urging Congress to expand paid leave that will enable the CF community to stay safe during the pandemic. As states across the country formulated their plans for crisis care, you shared your stories to ensure those plans did not discriminate against people with CF. And when the economic impacts of the pandemic meant that state budgets came under fire, you raised your voices to remind lawmakers of the importance of funding CF-related programs during a public health emergency
Please join us Thursday, January 28 at 8 p.m. ET to reflect on all the community has achieved at the CF Foundation’s first-ever National Annual Meeting. Foundation leaders, including our President and CEO, Michael Boyle, MD, will come together to celebrate the community’s strength during a time of great uncertainly.

As we look ahead to a new year, with a new administration and Congress, we will leverage our momentum and remarkable strength to enact meaningful change. This includes protecting and building upon the Affordable Care Act, educating lawmakers about the critical need for novel antibiotics, ensuring state budgets include support for CF-related programs, and working to advance CF care, including expanding access to telehealth services. Whatever comes our way, we’ll take it on together.
Until CF stands for Cure Found,
Mary Dwight
