John, We’re excited to announce that the next Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action (formerly Kick Butts Day) will take place virtually on April 1, 2021. Details will come soon, but here’s what to expect: - A robust digital toolkit for hosting your own virtual event and maximizing its impact.
- An interactive, virtual national event that brings it all together, hosted by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
Event registration will open on our website later this month. So save the date, do some brainstorming, and start spreading the word! |

Why April Fool’s Day? The tobacco industry peddles products that addict, sicken, and kill. So how do they get people to use products like that? They have to fool them. They use youth-oriented marketing to make it seem cool, brightly-colored packaging to make it seem fun, and sweet flavors to make it seem harmless – all to make the poison go down easy. Now, they’re trying to position themselves as “responsible” and “reformed,” as they vigorously fight efforts to reduce tobacco use. They’ve even taken advantage of COVID-19 to push their products! On April 1st, young people and youth allies will come together to tell the tobacco industry that we won’t be fooled anymore. We hope you’ll join us. |

Because of COVID-19, we’re not encouraging or supporting in-person events. But that won’t stop us from making our voices heard – and having a little fun while we do it. More soon, |
