Dear Friend,

The Republican wall of support for Donald Trump is finally starting to
crumble, and we could have a real chance to remove him before the end of
his term.

Yesterday, 10 House Republicans voted to impeach Trump, and now even Mitch
McConnell has signaled that he supports the House impeachment vote and is
open to voting for a conviction.^1

All of this was unthinkable just a week ago, but the deadly attack on the
U.S. Capitol changed everything.

We need to keep the pressure on to demand that the Senate reconvene
immediately and vote to convict Trump for instigating last Wednesday’s
violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Press reports are flooding out of the White House saying that Trump
remains bitterly frustrated at Vice President Mike Pence and other
Republicans who refused to overturn the election and keep him in power.^2
Meanwhile, his white supremacist followers have announced plans for a
coordinated attack on all 50 state capitols as well as Joe Biden‘s
inauguration.^3

Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the safety and security of
the United States, and anyone paying the slightest attention knows that
it’s an unacceptable risk to leave him in power as commander in chief for
even one more minute.

But what’s new is that suddenly even Republicans are recognizing the
threat. Senators like Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Pat Toomey of
Pennsylvania have indicated that they would support removing Trump from
office.

McConnell still would rather delay a vote on conviction until Trump leaves
office, passing the buck and avoiding blame from the pro-Trump Republican
base. But with Trump supporters continuing to threaten violence and Trump
himself still stirring up anger with his lies about a stolen election,
McConnell’s position may not be tenable.

We must continue flooding the Senate with phone calls demanding Trump's
immediate removal, and we need your help to keep up the pressure.

McConnell and demand Trump's immediate removal from office before anyone
else gets hurt or killed?

Thanks for standing with us.
