John, as you probably already know Amplify Action worked tirelessly in 2020 to register Black voters across the South.
We successfully registered over 30,000 Black voters, but I want to take a second to talk about one Black man Amplify Action registered.
Lester Young.
Lester Young is 48 years old and from South Carolina. This November was the first time in his life that he was able to vote. Lester was 19 when he was convicted of a felony and had his voting rights stripped from him.
He served 22 years and then parole and finally had his voting rights restored. Amplify Action registered Lester, and for the first time in his life, he was able to cast a ballot.
Amplify Action is an organization that cultivates the civic participation and political engagement of Black and African American men in the Southeastern region. Help us register and mobilize Black voters by signing up to become a monthly donor today!
