I voted for the second time to impeach President Trump.

It was not a decision I made lightly, but the evidence was clear. I witnessed the events that led to this moment firsthand, and I believe the president must be brought to justice for inciting the insurrectionists.

Almost every new piece of reporting further reinforces my decision.

Now, it is the Senate’s responsibility to hold a trial and hold him accountable.

Will you join me in calling for the Senate to convict Trump and bring him to justice for this attack on our democracy? He betrayed our values and made his contempt for our Constitution clear once again.

Even if the Republicans refuse to convene until President Trump is out of office, they still can convict him and force him to face serious consequences — including barring him from holding federal office ever again.

We know that Donald Trump is a danger to this nation and our democracy every second he is allowed to be in office. And with him already signaling that he may run again in 2024, and we must prevent future damage.

That is why the Senate absolutely must vote to stop any future run for office. It is the best option available to defend our democracy and send a message that this type of behavior will not be allowed to stand.
