EMERGENCY DONATION
[[link removed]]Defender,

A newly elected slate of extremist legislators in Montana have turned their
sights on Montana’s wolves.

They’re scrambling to pass a slew of bills to allow the killing of as many
wolves as possible – and if their gruesome plans are enacted, no wolf in Montana
will be safe.

Shut down these assaults on wolves and other wildlife. Pitch in to help fight
back against anti-wildlife extremists and other deadly threats to vulnerable
animals!

It’s clear that Montana’s new lawmakers are writing a death sentence for the
state’s wolves. Their anticipated list of cruel and lethal proposals includes:

* Letting each hunter and trapper kill many more wolves than before;
* Allowing wolves to be hunted at night;
* Allowing the use of snares to capture and kill wolves; and
* Reclassifying wolves in Montana to make it easier to kill wolves anytime of
the year

PITCH IN TO PROTECT WOLVES AND OTHER WILDLIFE

For years, Congress has turned its back on America’s wolves. Now, with gray
wolves federally delisted from the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the door is
open for more states to destroy longstanding protections for wolves and other
vulnerable wildlife. These new proposals in the Montana legislature could be a terrifying glimpse of
a future dominated by rogue states – unless we fight back.

Defenders has been at the forefront of gray wolf recovery since the first wolves
were released in Yellowstone National Park 25 years ago. Wolf restoration has
been one of our nation’s most cherished comeback stories, but extremists are
determined to try to reverse the wolves’ hard-won gains.

We’re not going to let these attacks go unanswered. We’re fighting tirelessly to end anti-wolf propaganda and keep wolf recovery
going across the nation – and your support will help make sure we succeed!

Wolves belong in Montana and across their historic range. They are part of the
wild legacy we leave future generations. Please help us stop these deadly
threats to the wildlife you and I love.

Thanks for all you do for wolves and other wild creatures.

Sincerely,

Jamie Rappaport Clark
