Who: Dr. Christine Grady is the Chief of the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and Head of the Department’s Section on Human Subjects Research. Her research focuses on research subject recruitment, incentives, vulnerability and international research ethics.
What: Drawing on her extensive experience in the field, Dr. Grady will explain some of the ethical questions that are raised by the COVID-19 vaccine process, such as subject trials and trials that safely involve children, how to best prioritize certain populations during distribution, and ways to build trust among demographics that have been exploited by medical research, including Black, LGBTQ and Indigenous communities.
