The Republicans must have been practicing their stand-up this past weekend on Mackinac Island, because their transportation budget is a joke.
Here's how you can tell: when asked about it, Republican Senate Leader Mike Shirkey said that he "wouldn't be afraid" of letting some roads close or "go back to gravel".
Gravel roads. That's their plan for our state.
Working people are paying the price for our roads every day in the cost of a new windshield or a new alignment. The state shuts down a bridge every other week.
If you've had enough of these games, pitch in to help us elect a legislature that will make fixing the damn roads a priority. >>

The "investment" Republicans have proposed would only fix 39 miles of freeway in need of repair.
These aren't serious ideas.
According to business groups, organized labor, and former Gov. Snyder's own transportation report, we need $2.5 billion for our roads. Michiganders sent Gretchen to the Governor's office with a mandate to fix the damn roads, and the budget she proposed does the job.
Serious problems call for serious solutions. Pitch in today to stand with Governor Whitmer and demand we need real solutions to our state's serious problems. >>

Governor Whitmer is willing to work with anyone serious on a plan to fix our roads. Letting them decay to gravel doesn't cut it.
