Friend, people around the world are demanding stronger action to fight climate change. It’s the leading reason I entered politics.

As Justin Trudeau said yesterday, we are living in a breathtaking, pivotal moment. Citizens are coming to a major realization: The climate crisis is real, and people are waking up.


I’ve been an activist and led environmental organizations, and now I am proud to be part of a team that is stepping up to fight the climate crisis and protect our environment – with Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team across Canada.


While Conservatives are ignoring the problem and want to make pollution free again, we’re taking ambitious action on the most serious challenge of our time.


The Liberal government has made important progress since 2015, including putting a price on pollution, phasing out coal, launching the new Oceans Protection Plan, and working to ban harmful single-use plastics by 2021. And there’s much more hard work ahead of us than behind us.


Just yesterday, we announced that a re-elected Liberal government will commit Canada to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and that we will make Canada the most attractive place in the world to start and grow a business that produces zero emissions technology.


If Andrew Scheer and his Conservatives have their way, all of our progress will be thrown back to the same failed policies and inaction that we all remember from Stephen Harper. Going backwards is just not an option.


Because the science is clear, the evidence is clear, and Canadians are clear – we must step up and do even more to protect our environment. Our kids and grandkids are counting on us.


Our choice is to keep moving forward, but we need your support to make it possible, friend.
