Dear John,
Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump — making him the first president in the history of the United States to be impeached twice.
Impeachment is a critical, first step in making sure we hold Trump responsible for inciting the white nationalist mob that attacked our nation’s Capitol last week. The question that lingers now is, “What next?”
In this moment of reckoning, we recognize that there is still a lot of work ahead of us to address our country’s legacy of white supremacy and repair the damage done by Trump’s administration. In order for us to tackle this work, we must work together, across movements and place.
That’s why this Saturday, Women’s March is joining groups like the Movement for Black Lives and leaders including Rep. Ayanna Pressley for a mass organizing meeting to discuss our path forward. Will you RSVP now to join us and learn how you can pitch in, John, to write this next chapter of politics?
For years, we’ve fought and dreamed for a future without Trump leading, but we know that defeating him was just the first step.
Now, we must join forces to fight for the future we all deserve, one that is rooted in care, love, and community. It’s critical that the moment Joe Biden is inaugurated, we are ready to fight together for the multi-racial democracy we envision for our country.
On January 16, we’ll hear from activists, leaders like Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and everyday people across the country to build relationships across location and issue areas, and uplift a shared people's agenda. We also want to hear from you about what our priorities should be under the next administration.
The more people who join, the better prepared we will be to work together as a movement of movements for the change we need in our country.
Together,
Rachel Carmona
Executive Director of Women’s March
