SCOTUS Blocks Access to Abortion Pill By Mail During Pandemic. Advocates Look to Biden Administration to Reverse Trump Policy

BAKER | On Tuesday, the Supreme Court granted a Trump administration request to reinstate an FDA rule requiring patients seeking medication abortion to make an unnecessary in-person visit to their health care provider—putting them at risk of contracting Covid-19. "The FDA’s policy imposes an unnecessary, unjustifiable, irrational and undue burden on women seeking an abortion during the current pandemic," Justice Sotomayor wrote in her dissent. 

 
 
 
Kristen Clarke to Join Justice Department: “We Will Turn the Page on Hate”

BY SOPHIE DORF-KAMIENNY | Kristen Clarke has been nominated to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the incoming Biden administration. In accepting her nomination, Clarke vowed to "turn the page on hate and closed the door on discrimination by enforcing our federal civil rights laws." 

 
 
 
Athletes Win First Round in Title IX Challenge To Cuts To Women’s Sports

BAKER | “I understand that our teams don’t make as much money as football and basketball,” said Sage Ohlensehlen, captain of the women’s swim team at University of Iowa and lead plaintiff in a class-action Title IX lawsuit against the school. “But we trained just as hard and we have just as much love for our sport.
