John, the trial
over Botham Jean’s murder is happening now, and we just learned something
utterly disgusting.

On the night Botham Jean was murdered, Mike Mata of the Dallas Police
Officers Association arrived on the scene, took Amber Guyger out of the
way of body cameras, and then instructed all of the police to turn their
body cameras off.

It was a cover-up. But now there is footage out showing officer Guyger
saying over and over that she thought it was her apartment. There’s also
evidence that she was distracted by sexual, explicit conversations over
the phone with her police force partner when she entered Botham’s
apartment. The whole thing is obscene.

[ [link removed] ]Sign our petition now: We’re demanding that every single officer who
tried to help cover up the truth be fired. They should each be called to
testify under oath about who instructed them to do it.

Here’s more of what we know from the evidence: Botham was at home watching
TV and eating ice cream when officer Guyger entered his apartment and shot
him. Photos of Guyger’s apartment show that it was not at all similar to
Botham’s.

The 911 call recording has Guyger saying, "I thought it was my apartment"
nearly 20 times. She also says: "I'm gonna lose my job" and "I am going to
need a supervisor."

But so far there is no justice. Guyger received special treatment. Instead
of handcuffs, she got handshakes and hugs. Her fellow officers who were
supposed to gather evidence were busy covering for her.

With the case ongoing, this is an important moment to make our voices
heard. The more people we have with us, the louder we will be.
