John, I wouldn’t be saying this if it wasn’t important: Representative Mo Brooks, a Republican from Alabama, must be expelled from Congress.
I say this not only because he has repeatedly promoted Trump’s baseless lies about election fraud and election stealing, but also because he helped incite the violent mob who descended upon the Capitol last week. Five people died, and members of Congress’ lives were threatened. And we cannot forget that many staffers, maintenance crews, custodians, and cafeteria workers could have been killed, too.
There must be accountability for people like Mo Brooks who added fuel to the fire — but refuse to accept responsibility for their actions. That’s why I introduced a resolution in Congress to have him expelled.
If you agree that he should be expelled, please add your name to my petition:
I am truly disgusted by what happened last week. Trump’s actions were reprehensible, but so were the actions of the members of Congress like Mo Brooks who have defended, aided, and abetted this lawless President every step of the way.
The events of last Wednesday must never happen again, and we have to make it clear that Congress is no place for this kind of hate — and that we will not stand for members of Congress encouraging violent mobs to attack our nation. Will you join me and sign my petition?
Thank you for signing,
— Hank
