In the 2020 Election, California voters sent a message loud and clear to Sacramento Democrats by voting YES on Prop 22. This Proposition was a strong rebuke of the heavy-handed policies of California Democrats that sought to dictate how our contract workers could earn a living with the passage of AB5. The fact that our State Legislature literally attempted to destroy essential services like Uber Eats, GrubHub, and Instacart in the middle of a pandemic proves that they put their own political goals in front of the needs of the people.

The California Democratic Party has been lying to us for years. By claiming to be the party of the working class, they instead became beholden by far-left union bosses that focus more on empowering themselves than protecting their constituents. Just yesterday, these union leaders announced a lawsuit to OVERTURN Prop 22, which passed by a WIDE margin just 2 months ago! Time and time again, we see that Democrats are putting hard-working Californians last. 

The Republican Party will always uphold the right of middle class workers to earn a living on their terms. That is why we vehemently oppose AB5, a law that has attempted to end contract work as we know it. As we saw with Prop 22, this is an issue that our citizens care deeply about.
