Hi John,

Earlier this month, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that 499 people were killed and more than 2,240 shot in the city in 2020.

Gun violence is a public health crisis, and it is time we treat it as such. We cannot wait any longer for commonsense, community-focused solutions. Our country, our communities, and our children depend on it.

We must work together to solve this problem and depoliticize our efforts to keep our communities safe.

As the representative for Pennsylvania's Fifth District, I have heard gut-wrenching stories about gun violence from people of all ages. Make no mistake, this issue impacts all of us.

In Congress, I will continue advocating for immediate action on this crisis -- but I know ending gun violence won't be easy when there are so many groups working against us.

My promise to you is that I will work with anyone to make progress and find solutions to this complicated problem.

If you believe that we need common sense, community-focused solutions to the gun violence epidemic and are in a position to support our efforts, please pitch in today to show you are with me.

We have work to do.

-Mary Gay
