[2]National Nurses United
Hi, Ady
Barkan here. You may know me as a vocal advocate for Medicare for All and
longtime partner of National Nurses United.
After I was diagnosed with ALS in 2016, I co-founded Be A Hero and
dedicated my life to fighting for Medicare for All and health care
justice.
With Democrats in control of the government, we have a window of
opportunity to pass universal health care, and there’s not a moment to
waste. That’s why I’d like to share my thoughts with you directly on NNU’s
national call next week.
[ [link removed] ]Will you join me on January 21 at 5pm PT/8pm ET to prepare for what’s
ahead and discuss how you can pressure your representatives to support
Medicare for All?
This is our moment. The pandemic has only
magnified our broken system of governance. Now, we must use our power to
solve the problems our country faces and govern effectively. That means
finally addressing our health care crisis head-on and guaranteeing health
care as a human right.
I know firsthand what Medicare for All would mean for people like me. It
means not having to go bankrupt to stay alive. It means spending your
precious time with family and friends instead of arguing with insurance
companies. It means being able to stay in our homes with our families and
receive long-term care.
A multi-racial coalition of working people across Georgia delivered a
historic victory and flipped the Senate. Now we must deliver for them. We
must work together to make a real difference in the lives of people
throughout the country.
[ [link removed] ]But it is not politicians who will deliver this change, it will come
from the people. If you’re ready to take the next step with me in this
campaign, join the call on Thursday, January 21.
Hope is not a state of mind. Hope is a state of action.
Let’s get to work.
