Washington D.C. - On September 24, the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing on President Trump's Muslim Ban. The event highlighted the human impact of the policy and its discriminatory intent and effect. It also exposed the irrational, arbitrary, and opaque nature of the so called visa-waiver process. Emgage is proud to have been part of the effort--some 400 organizations were involved--in getting Congress to finally hold a public hearing on this important issue.
“As a former national security professional, this ban has nothing to do with keeping us safe and everything to do with politics based on discrimination. There is no convincing argument for why these countries where included when not a single person from those countries has committed a terrorist attack on US soil since 1975. The so called visa waiver process is arbitrary, opaque, and an overall sham.” - Wa’el Alzayat, Emgage CEO
