John -- Over a week ago our Capitol was attacked and we’ve yet to get a briefing from federal law enforcement, DHS or anyone in a position of leadership.

This was an act of terror and we deserve to know what is being done to bring those responsible to justice. 

Thankfully, but not surprisingly, Brand New Congress representatives have been leading the way to address the egregious circumstances left in the fallout from the attack. But they need backup!

Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) has introduced the Congressional Oversight of Unjust Policing (COUP) Act -- legislation designed to create a commission responsible for investigating what led to the failed response and any ties between White supremacist groups and U.S. Capitol Police. 

Congresswoman Cori Bush (MO-1) introduced a resolution to formally expel members of Congress whose rhetoric stoked the flames that led to last week’s terrorist attack that attempted to overturn the election and undermine the very fabric of our democracy.

Our progressive champions are taking the lead with full-throated responses to fight the bad actors responsible for tearing our country apart. That is why in 2022, Brand New Congress is working to elect the most powerful coalition of grassroots leaders yet. 

There are no “off years.” We have to keep building our infrastructure now. In just a couple of weeks we will begin our candidate nomination process and we must bring in the resources to make sure we can run another successful and robust operation.
