NASN, SAGE Debut New
Member Research Center
NASN and SAGE have teamed up to provide NASN members with access to school health and child health articles from a selection of journals published by SAGE. Articles will be available for six months and different articles will be highlighted every six months. This new Research Center is designed to increase NASN members’ access to current research related to school nursing and student health.

The school nurse website toolkit was developed to assist nurses in the development of their own professional practice websites, thereby enhancing their image to stakeholders and changing the public narrative of school nursing.
NASN Learning Center: New School Tools from CDC for a Healthy New Year
CDC recently released toolkits for school personnel to use to consider and implement COVID-19 mitigation strategies in their K-12 schools. This course summarizes current COVID-19 data and statistics, reviews existing COVID-19 tools and resources, and describes tools that can be used to guide K-12 school personnel to reduce the risk of COVID-19 as in-person classes resume.
Time to THRIVE Conference Promotes Safety, Inclusion, and Well-being for LGBTQ Youth
Registration is now open for HRC’s 8th annual Time to THRIVE conference, and the members of our Project THRIVE partners will receive discounted registration! Due to the current health crisis, our 2021 conference will be held on a virtual platform from February 9-11. Time to THRIVE will feature a full schedule of informative workshops, dynamic speakers, networking opportunities, and exhibitors providing free resources.

In-person Schooling and COVID-19 Transmission
A review of current evidence, compiled by UNICEF and UNESCO, shows that in-person schooling does not appear to be the main driver of infection spikes, children in school do not appear to be exposed to higher risks of infection compared to when not in school when mitigation measures are in place, and school staff also do not appear to be at a higher relative risk compared to the general population.

LGBTQ Youth Sexual Health On-demand Recording
LGBTQ youth face unique challenges in their sexual, physical, and mental health as compared to their peers, and the lack of LGBTQ-inclusive sexual health education is a driving factor. A panel, featuring experts and LGBTQ youth, will cover important topics such as the need for inclusive curriculum and programs, addressing HIV among LGBTQ youth, and domestic, dating, and sexual violence among LGBTQ youth. This educational session was recorded.
Resources To Support Eligible Families In Medicaid And CHIP
The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign is excited to announce new resources to help agencies and national, regional, and local organizations continue to conduct effective outreach during the 2020-2021 winter season. These resources and materials are intended to help support your ongoing efforts to enroll eligible families in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and remind them to make use of important benefits covered for their children and teens — such as the seasonal flu vaccine — as we approach peak flu season.
