NASN, SAGE Debut New
Member Research Center

NASN and SAGE have teamed up to provide NASN members with access to school health and child health articles from a selection of journals published by SAGE. Articles will be available for six months and different articles will be highlighted every six months. This new Research Center is designed to increase NASN members’ access to current research related to school nursing and student health.

In-person Schooling and COVID-19 Transmission
|
|
A review of current evidence, compiled by UNICEF and UNESCO, shows that in-person schooling does not appear to be the main driver of infection spikes, children in school do not appear to be exposed to higher risks of infection compared to when not in school when mitigation measures are in place, and school staff also do not appear to be at a higher relative risk compared to the general population.

LGBTQ Youth Sexual Health On-demand Recording
|
|
LGBTQ youth face unique challenges in their sexual, physical, and mental health as compared to their peers, and the lack of LGBTQ-inclusive sexual health education is a driving factor. A panel, featuring experts and LGBTQ youth, will cover important topics such as the need for inclusive curriculum and programs, addressing HIV among LGBTQ youth, and domestic, dating, and sexual violence among LGBTQ youth. This educational session was recorded.

The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign is excited to announce new resources to help agencies and national, regional, and local organizations continue to conduct effective outreach during the 2020-2021 winter season. These resources and materials are intended to help support your ongoing efforts to enroll eligible families in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and remind them to make use of important benefits covered for their children and teens — such as the seasonal flu vaccine — as we approach peak flu season.
