On Tuesday evening, I voted for a resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove President Trump from office immediately. And yesterday, I voted to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump.

These are difficult decisions to make as a member of Congress and ones I do not take lightly, but Trump left us with no other choice.

Trump repeatedly made false claims of election fraud and gave explicit directions to his supporters to storm the Capitol, directly inciting an insurrection that left five dead and injuries to more than 50 police officers. And now, we have learned Trump ignored desperate pleas from lawmakers, law enforcement, and his own aides as he watched the events unfold on live TV.

Trump’s actions are dangerous and there’s no doubt in my mind they are impeachable offenses. He has made it abundantly clear he is unfit to perform his duties as president and he must be removed from office.

This is a serious moment for our country, and as a valued member of our grassroots community, I need to know where you stand. If you agree Trump should be held accountable for his actions, add your name and join my call for impeachment proceedings against the president.
