New Orleanians will find ways to celebrate.
No matter what.
This year's Carnival season will be like no other. With the pandemic forcing us to cancel parades, it's easy to feel like the world doesn't want us to celebrate. But we've never let the challenges we've faced stop us from celebrating Mardi Gras before, and we won't this year, either.
New Orleanians have already come up with so many fantastic ways to celebrate. Many local residents are hiring Mardi Gras artists to decorate their houses like parade floats. NOLA.com and Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World are planning a spectacular three-night online celebration, "Mardi Gras for All Y'all." And if you really can't wait, the Krewe of Bacchus has released an app that lets you design a costume and play a virtual parade game.
