Hi John,

LaTosha Brown, co-founder of the grassroots organization Black Voters Matter, had three simple words:

LaTosha Brown via Twitter: “We did our part.”

As the results came in, The Cook Political Report showed that Black voter turnout was “phenomenal,” with many Black counties reaching 90 percent or more of their November numbers. This only validates what we've always known to be true: Grassroots action gets the job done.

John, if we want to continue laying the groundwork to reform a system that favors the few, we need to capitalize off of our successes in Georgia. And if we want to make an impact in this fight the next cycle, we need to ramp up our budget.

Women, especially women of color like LaTosha Brown, have proven time and time again that they can lead the fight for change in this country. Whether they're in Georgia, Pennsylvania, or Florida, we need to support the countless women doing work on the ground to ensure their voices are heard.
