DC, along with three states, signs the Transportation Climate Initiative

On December 21, the District of Columbia was among the first to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) committing to the Transportation Climate Initiative Program (TCI-P), along with Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The initiative promises to put a price on transportation fuels that spew greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, with money raised going to clean transportation. As a co-benefit, regional air will be cleaner.

Airbnb is canceling inauguration week reservations

Anticipating violence during the upcoming inauguration, Airbnb decided to cancel reservations made for inauguration week in the region after a group of local activists pressed for aggressive action. Airbnb will compensate hosts for the money they would have earned during that week.  (CityLab)

Judge throws out lawsuit looking to stop Adams Morgan Plaza condo construction

A DC judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to stop the construction of condos on Adams Morgan Plaza by arguing the plaza is public space. A lawyer for the plaintiffs said they are discussing options and may appeal to the DC Court of Appeals.  (Martin Austermuhle / DCist)

No commemorative SmartTrip card for Biden-Harris inauguration

The Kojo Nnamdi Show is ending after 23 years

Trump has been impeached for a second time

The House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time, accusing him of inciting the violent terrorist attack on the Capitol by making false election claims. Trump is the first president to be impeached twice.  (Post)
