John xxxxxx,
Yesterday, the U.S. House officially voted to impeach President Donald J. Trump. Again.
This is not a joyous occasion to celebrate. It’s a deeply disappointing and shameful moment in our country’s history to have a president so corrupt, so lawless, so unfit for office that we had no choice but to impeach him not once, but twice . He will go down in history as the first and only U.S. president to be impeached a second time.
House Democrats and ten brave House Republicans did what we had to do in order to safeguard our democracy by voting to impeach Trump. Ironically, it was the most bipartisan impeachment to happen in our country’s history, but it’s shameful that the remaining 197 Republicans voted with Team Sedition.
You’re probably wondering: what’s next?
Now, it’s on the U.S. Senate to rise to the occasion, do what’s right and actually convict Trump this time around.
They know the truth: this president is a clear and present danger to our country and democracy as we know it. Not only should he be removed from the White House immediately, but he must be prevented from running for office ever again.
There are whispers that more and more Senate Republicans are considering voting to convict the President, even Mitch McConnell. But we know Trump and his base are putting incredible amounts of pressure on them to stay loyal and put party over country.
We need to build an undeniable amount of pressure to convince the Republican-controlled Senate to do right by the American people and vote to convict this criminal president.
Add your name right now to my petition urging the Senate to convict Trump ASAP. [[link removed]]

This is a frustrating and at times terrifying moment in our country’s history. But if we stick together and keep fighting to hold seditious criminals like Trump accountable to our system of Democracy, we will prevail.
Keep the faith,
— Hakeem
