Yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi named me as one of the nine impeachment managers tasked with presenting the case to the United States Senate for President Trump’s removal from office. I’m honored to have been appointed to this position, and I am resolved to carry out Congress's most solemn responsibility to protect our democracy and our oath to the Constitution. 

My colleagues and I have taken every step short of impeachment to contain the clear and present danger that threatens the very fabric of our nation, but now, as we’ve been compelled to consider this final, necessary act, I vow to be your voice in this important process as we seek the conviction of Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection that resulted in multiple deaths. The bedrock principles of our Democracy -- a peaceful transition of power and unending faith in our electoral process -- are under threat like never before, and you have my word that I will stop at nothing to defend them.
