This decision will likely be one of the most consequential ones I will ever
make as your Congresswoman, and it is certainly one that I take solemnly and
seriously.

Ultimately, it is my duty as a member of Congress to uphold the Constitution
and ensure that no one, not even the president, is above the law.

President Trump has given us ample reason to question his judgement; however,
the latest revelations of his collaboration with a foreign entity to perform
oppositional research on a former Vice President and current political opponent
is too far.

There is nothing ambiguous about this and I stand with Speaker Pelosi in
calling this what it is: betrayal. “Betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of
our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections,” as she
said in her remarks yesterday evening.

Please let me know if I can count on your support. This is a serious step, and
I want to know that my constituents are with me on this.

This is a tough decision that will likely carry with it enormous political
consequences. We must do what is right in this moment by protecting our
American values and our democracy.

Will you stand with me in support of an official impeachment inquiry?
