Last week, we endorsed Elizabeth Warren for president. That decision has made a lot of news — and we knew it would. When you’re one of the first national progressive organizations to take the bold step of endorsing in a close Democratic primary, that’s inevitable. But while we can't wait to start organizing to win in 2020, we’re also not taking our eye off the ball for a minute.

So far this year, John, we’ve endorsed 1,149 candidates all the way up and down the ballot — from school boards and city councils to the U.S. House and Senate, we’re fighting to elect incredible progressives all across America.

Dozens of those candidates have already won in a “WFP wave” of victories in cities and towns nationwide.1 Even more of them will be on the ballot in just 41 days on November 5th. That includes people like Kendra Brooks and Nicolas O’Rourke, who are running as proud Working Families Party candidates to replace the Republican Party as the minority party in Philadelphia’s city council (and who just outraised every Republican in the field!)2

Our ability to organize for and elect candidates like these is dependent on what we can raise online.

So here’s the rub: there’s a big FEC deadline in just 5 days. And since we depend on fundraising from grassroots donors — not Super PACs, the billionaire class, or corporate big money — we need your help.

Can you make a $3 donation to the Working Families Party today to help fund and fuel our work to elect over 1,000 candidates across the country? We wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.

We know you’re getting a lot of emails like this right now. But here are the facts: the vast majority of our online fundraising comes from our dues-paying members and from donors giving what they can afford in response to emails just like this one. And so far this quarter, our average donation is just $12.97 — coming from teachers and nurses and other working people from all over.

So when we say our work depends on lots of small donations, we mean it. We’re mobilizing organizers, volunteers, and activists in every corner of the country, day in and day out, to elect those 1,149 progressive candidates. And we can't do it alone.

This is your chance to own a part of our massive wave of progressive victories in 2019 and 2020. Chip in today — could be $1, could be $10 — before this upcoming critical FEC deadline.

We have a lot of work to do, and not a lot of time to do it. But we’re so grateful and fortunate to have you by our side.

Thank you,

The entire team at Working Families Party
