The latest impeachment trial update

Indivisibles --

Just a little while ago, the House voted to impeach Donald Trump for incitement of insurrection. That’s a first in American history -- no President has ever been impeached twice.

Here’s the kicker though: despite that, despite how clear the evidence is that he’s guilty, it’s still possible the Senate won’t convict him and remove him from office. 🤯

We’ll be back with another of our long-form explainers soon to tell you about the process in the Senate, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, though, we have three easy asks for you:

  1. Click here to call your Senator. Tell them #1 to tell Mitch McConnell that he must call the Senate back into session to consider the impeachment, and #2 that you expect them (your Senator) to vote yes on convicting, removing and disqualifying Trump.

  2. After you call (CALL FIRST!) click here to make a donation to Indivisible Project. We’re building impeachment resources and call scripts as fast as we can while also planning and preparing for advocacy for the rest of the year. We’re committed, but we can’t do it without support.

  3. Click here to look for a People Lead event online this week. Activists across the country are working together to support impeachment and all our other priorities this week and we need you to add your voice to that work.

More soon. Thank you, as always.

In solidarity,
Meagan Hatcher-Mays

Indivisible Project is a locally-led, people-powered movement of thousands of local groups in red, blue, and purple states, and in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Our mission is to power and lift up a grassroots movement of local groups to defeat the Trump agenda, elect progressive leaders, and realize bold progressive policies.

Grassroots donations, not foundations or large gifts, are our single largest source of funding. That means we’re accountable to, and fueled by, Indivisibles on the ground. Chip in $7 to keep fueling our movement.
