Team,

I just cast my vote, along with 231 of my House colleagues from both sides of the aisle, to impeach President Trump for his role in inciting violence that led to the deadly attack on our Capitol a week ago today.

The violence at the Capitol showed just how dangerous President Trump is to our Constitution and our democracy. President Trump's incitement of the insurrection was an unprecedented betrayal of duty and the country the president swore to protect.

When I was elected to represent NH-01 in Congress, I took an oath to protect and preserve our Constitution. This impeachment vote wasn't about politics -- it was about holding this president accountable.

Next week our country and our democracy begin a new chapter, and I look forward to working with President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris to start healing our nation's divides.
