Statement on the Impeachment of President Trump

ORANGE COUNTY, CA - Hon. Fred M. Whitaker, Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County, released the following statement:

"Today Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats made it clear they have no intention of bringing our country together. President Trump has already made clear there will be a peaceful transition of power on January 20th.

There is no reason to impeach the duly elected President of the United States mere days before his term will end.

This is a time for our nation to heal. The Democrats have further divided the country. I am proud of our Orange County Congresswomen Young Kim and Michelle Steel for voting against impeachment.

This vote was not a referendum on the actions on the capitol last week. This vote is a Democrat attempt to spike the football and punish, shame and silence the over 74 million Americans who voted for President Trump.

To the Democrats I would repeat to them what they have been repeating to us over the past month: It is time to move on. There is a long list of issues we need to address as a nation. Millions of Americans are unemployed and every day we delay on relief for small businesses, more and more shut their doors for good. It is time to get back to work.

We call on the United States Senate to once again be the adult in the room, stop this second impeachment attempt and allow a peaceful transition of power on January 20th."
