As more and more information comes out about the attacks on the U.S. Capitol last week, it's become more clear that things were worse than we yet know. We are going to need a lengthy, thorough investigation to uncover just what happened and who in our government was coordinating with the seditionists.

Amidst my fear for those who were put in harm's way and my sadness for the degradation of our democracy, I find that I am angrier than I have ever been before.

For years, Republicans have stood by Donald Trump, staying silent time after time as he spread hateful rhetoric, passed harmful bills, and denied the validity of our elections.

And at his lowest, when he incited violence against the Capitol and our duly elected representatives, over a hundred House Republicans voted to cast doubt on the 2020 elections.

Among those Republicans who showed cowardice and a refusal to honor their oath to this country was Mike Garcia.

When we needed him to be a leader for CA-25, he sided with his political party over his -- our -- country. For that, we can no longer expect him to represent us. He must resign.

It's clear that our community cannot trust Mike to act in the best interests of this country.

We can't even count on him to tell the truth to Trump's base: that allegations of election fraud were never more than a conspiracy spread by a demagogue trying to hang onto power at any cost.

Mike has shown us all exactly what he is. He's a party-loyalist. An enabler. A far-right radical.

And he's not who we need serving CA-25 in Congress.

John, take just a moment to add your name calling on Mike Garcia to resign today. He's already done too much damage to this country -- we need to prevent him from doing any more
