DFA endorsed representative Jamaal Bowman has introduced the Congressional Oversight of Unjust Policing Act, the COUP Act.

The COUP Act will investigate the attack on the U.S Capitol building and establish a commission to address the failures of Capitol security.

Stand with Jamaal Bowman and progressive champions, Barbara Lee, Ilhan Omar, and Mondaire Jones by becoming a citizen co-sponsor of the Coup Act.

Already, two Capitol Police officers have been suspended and others are being investigated by the FBI. One officer took a selfie with the fascist mob while the other donned a MAGA hat and gave out directions.

Just yesterday news broke from the Washington Post that an FBI report warned of “war” at the U.S capitol, showing that there was prior knowledge about potential widespread violence, yet no precautions were taken.

While we know that these domestic terrorists gathered at the Capitol because Trump encouraged them to march to it, we don't have answers on how they were able to breach the building.

These failures must be investigated, become a citizen co-sponsor of the Coup Act.

Our name is Democracy For America because we understand that protecting and defending our democracy is a top priority. Believing in the ideals of democracy means fighting for its principles and actively warding off attacks against it.

This legislation is a matter of protecting our democracy. We must know how this was allowed to happen.

This attack wasn't spontaneous. The presence of pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC and terrorists going directly to unmarked offices of lawmakers make it clear this was planned and we must find out how much the administration and Capitol Police knew.

Add your name as a co-signer of the COUP Act so we can form a national commission to investigate this terrorist attack and ties between white supremacists and Capitol Police.
