John,

Today, the United States House of Representatives will vote on Articles of Impeachment charging the President of the United States with incitement of insurrection.

I will vote yes because on January 6, 2021, the President incited an insurrectionist attack on the United States Capitol as Congress met to fulfill its constitutional duty of formally recognizing the results of the 2020 election, an election he refuses to acknowledge he lost.

After months of pushing conspiracies and urging his supporters to “stop the steal,” we witnessed the logical result of his dangerous rhetoric – an insurrection. President Trump has long trafficked in conspiracies and used division and hateful rhetoric to appeal to dark forces in our nation, but on January 6th, he incited an insurrection - an attack on our very nation - and he betrayed his oath to protect this country from all enemies foreign and domestic, and today I will vote to impeach him for that betrayal.

It is a sad day for our nation, and it is with a heavy heart and a commitment to upholding my oath to our constitution that I will cast my vote.
