PEAK in Community
The latest news about our sector partnerships and how PEAK is advocating for more equitable grantmaking practices at conferences, convenings, and community conversations.
In December, President and CEO Satonya Fair concluded a busy year meeting with sector leaders and partners to advance our call for more equitable grantmaking, including meetings with Trust-Based Philanthropy, Just Fund, Mission Investors Exchange, and the Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
Satonya moderated the closing session in the four-part Philanthropy, Tech & Equity series. The series was well received and we plan to carry that energy into 2021 by sharing insights gleaned and applying them to design concrete next steps with series partners Technology Association of Grantmakers, GrantAdvisor, and Grantbook.
Satonya also connected with members at a number of convenings last month – a PEAK Rocky Mountain chapter event; a meeting of our Corporate Grantmakers Community of Practice, where we sought advice on how to better support their work and roles while bolstering PEAK's value proposition for corporate funders; and in a reflective session with our Race and Racial Equity Affinity Group members, which formally launches in 2021.
Programs and Knowledge Director Melissa Sines presented on the topics of unconscious bias and equitable grantmaking to the DMV Giving Collaborative, a grouping of giving circles located in and around Washington, DC.
