POLITICO: "The Pentagon is confronting a resurgence of white supremacy and other right-wing ideologies in the ranks."

Last year, over 33% of active-duty troops (and over 50% of troops of color) reported that they've personally seen white nationalism or similar ideologically motivated bigotry in the armed forces.

Joe Biden will soon be president. He's appointed our first Black secretary of defense. And Democrats are dedicated to rooting out hate in our military -- Senator Tammy Duckworth, a decorated veteran, has already called for an investigation into the military or ex-military personnel behind the breach of the Capitol.

But, per POLITICO, the Pentagon is "scrambling" to find out just how many white supremacists are in their ranks. And as Democratic Rep. Jason Crow states, "There is a crisis issue... that has to be dealt with right away and unequivocally."

With the inauguration still on the horizon, we couldn't agree more. We're doing everything we can to support progressive leaders, disavow white supremacy, and protect the institutional norms of our democracy during this fragile transition. But we're running low on funds at the same time that the alt-right just had a major win. The videos of the attack on the Capitol have already become a beacon of hope and potential recruiting tool for hate groups the world over.
