Today, one week after the deadly armed attack on the U.S. Capitol and our elected officials, the House of Representatives will vote to impeach Donald Trump.

This is not about political parties, John, it is about safeguarding our democracy. It is time for each and every elected official to embody Brady’s motto and “take action, not sides.” It is urgent that the House comes together and decisively votes to impeach the President for inciting the vicious attack on the U.S. Capitol and our lawmakers. Trump’s violent rhetoric and support of white nationalists and armed vigilantism directly lead to this violence and, without his removal, will remain a threat to the safety of all Americans.

It is critically important to hold the President accountable for these acts, particularly as the FBI is warning of more armed attacks across the country.
