In a matter of hours, the United States House of Representatives will vote on impeaching Donald Trump for “willful incitement of insurrection.”
Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard right now at (202) 224-3121 and urge your representative to vote “yes” on impeaching Donald Trump.
If your representative is a Republican, it’s even more important to call right now. Do NOT assume every Republican representative is a “no” vote.
- Many Republicans who sailed the stormy seas on the SS Trump lo these many years are now fleeing like proverbial rats on a sinking ship.
- Several Republican representatives have already publicly indicated their support for impeachment.
- That includes Congresswoman Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who issued this unmistakable message:
- “There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution. ... I will vote to impeach the president.”
- The top Republican in the House and one of Trump’s most intractable backers there — Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy — has reportedly even considered urging the president to resign.
So, whether your representative is a Democrat or a Republican, pick up the phone right now.
It’s really easy:
1. Dial the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. (Be patient — the Capitol is getting a lot of calls these days.)
2. When you get through to the switchboard, follow the prompts to be connected to the office of your representative. (Use this handy tool to find out who your representative is.)
3. Leave this quick message (whether you get voicemail or a staffer answers the phone):
I am a constituent and I am calling to urge my representative to vote yes on impeaching Donald Trump.
That’s it!
And don’t worry, you won’t have to get into a debate with your representative (or anyone else).
Just call (202) 224-3121 right now!
Thank you for taking action.

P.S. For half a century, Public Citizen has been advancing policies that put the needs of everyday Americans before the greed of billionaires and Big Business. That legacy of progress and that ongoing work could not matter more right now, as our nation transitions to a Joe Biden presidency that will be as progressive as we — you and Public Citizen, together — make it.
Of course, we’re also busy undoing damage the Trump administration has already done and watching out for whatever shenanigans a lame-duck Donald Trump tries to get away with. And — like so many nonprofits and small businesses — we continue to experience financial strain related to the coronavirus pandemic.
If you can, please make an emergency donation today to support the critical work we’re doing together or even join our popular Monthly Giving program. Thank you.
