What’s the 1.5 Challenge? 

It’s a 5-week challenge to complete 1.5 miles or a 15 minute activity every day. So far, 535 people have joined and logged 13,499 minutes. You can join now.

Why 1.5?

A 1.5 degrees Celsius (or a 2.7°F) rise in average global temperatures is the threshold for climate catastrophe. Right now we’re at 1.2, and we’re already seeing that is not safe. We could reach 1.5 as early as 2024. We must keep it below 1.5.

How is this helping prevent climate change? 

It’s a $35 registration donation, with the option to create a fundraising page. The money you raise will support Sierra Club's initiatives like retiring coal plants, moving away from fossil fuels, and transitioning to clean energy, like solar and wind, in an equitable and just way. 

Plus, when you share this challenge with your friends and family, you’re passing on the important message that we must take action now. You can even forward this email to a friend to join you!
