Enough Project

Dear Supporter,

In a new op-ed [ [link removed] ] released in African Arguments yesterday, Enough Project's Founding Director John Prendergast calls on the US and others to support Sudan's new government by modernizing its policy approach and creating consequences for spoilers.

"For the first time in three decades, Sudan has an opening for peace and democracy. To achieve the hopes of the millions who rose up peacefully to call for change, the underlying corruption-fueled system that incentivizes violence and repression must be confronted head-on," Prendergast argues. "If the international community once again limits itself to verbal encouragement, vaguely targeted foreign assistance, and technical help, it should expect the same results seen in Egypt and elsewhere."
