It may feel like summer, but the California primary is only five and a half months away. And I need your help. ([link removed])

Ballots will go out in four and a half months to Vote By Mail voters. Most people won’t pay attention to politics between Thanksgiving and the New Year, so we really only have three months to communicate with voters.

That’s a short time to remind them of my record and share my vision for progress in the next Congress. We can build on what we started this year with universal background checks by passing an automatic weapons ban. Comprehensive immigration reform, expanding access to affordable healthcare and moving on a climate change initiative are all high on my list of legislative priorities.

You know that I would rather do my work than campaign, but the demands of a campaign are upon us. And I need your help. We’ll be communicating with voters soon because of the early primary. That means I need funds sooner than usual.
