Last week, Ro emailed you about taking action in response to the insurrection that took place at the U.S. Capitol by calling for impeachment of Donald Trump.
Today, we’re asking for you to take action once again by joining Ro in supporting Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s Congressional Oversight and Unjust Policing (COUP) Act.
The COUP Act would create a commission to investigate and intercept police misconduct and incompetence on Capitol Hill. Add your name to show your support for the COUP Act to end biased policing on Capitol Hill today.
Biased policing is a security threat because it leads us to mark innocent people as threats and terrorists as innocent. This is what we saw happen at the Capitol last Wednesday – and it resulted in a police-aided coup.
Simply firing the heads of the Capitol police won't be enough. We need a detailed investigation and course of action to redeem trust and restore security after one of the darkest days in American history.
With a new Congress already underway, and a new Administration and Senate majority just days away, we have the power to pass legislation that will make transformative change in this country. But for that to happen, we need the support of grassroots donors, volunteers, and voters like you.
