John,
Tonight, I will vote for a resolution to call on the vice president to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump from office. Tomorrow, I will vote to impeach Trump -- again.
The decision as to whether or not to support Trump's removal is an easy one.
He perpetuated blatant lies about our election security. Those lies activated a white supremacist mob, who he incited to attack our Capitol building last Wednesday. Five people died, some are in critical condition, and law enforcement was woefully underprepared to prevent our Capitol from being breached. Trump is to blame for this insurrection. He violated the Constitution and must be held accountable. He can never be allowed to hold office again, and I need your help to make sure of that.
Add your name now to join me in upholding the Constitution and holding Trump accountable for his assault on our democracy.

There is a lot of rhetoric from my Republican colleagues who want to see "unity" in the aftermath of a terrorist insurrection. According to them, Democrats are "divisive" by moving forward with an impeachment article, with only a few days left in Trump's term. By putting their loyalty to Trump above their loyalty to the Constitution, they are the only ones dividing our country.
It brings me no joy to have to impeach a president a second time. But his actions have left me no other choice. It would not have come to this point if Trump was a leader who had the best interest of the American people -- and not himself -- in mind. And if his inner circle and congressional allies had not enabled him at every turn. But I would be betraying my constituents and the American people by pretending that Trump's actions are acceptable.
I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and need your voice. Sign on now if you support all efforts taken to make sure Donald Trump is held accountable for his actions.
