I wanted to give you an update on our efforts to remove President Trump from office as quickly as possible for the sake of protecting our country and democracy. Every day he remains as President, he poses a clear and present danger.

Yesterday, House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment against Trump for incitement of insurrection, and we’re moving to vote on it as soon as tomorrow.

But in the meantime, we’re leaving no option off the table to get him out of office immediately, including the 25th Amendment.

Under the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Vice President and a majority of Cabinet members may declare the President unfit to carry out the duties of his office, and transfer presidential responsibilities to the Vice President. After Donald Trump incited a violent mob to storm the Capitol, leaving at least five people dead and disrupting the peaceful transition of power, the time for that is NOW.

Tonight, I plan on joining House Democrats in voting for a resolution urging Vice President Pence to exercise the 25th Amendment and immediately end Trump’s presidency before he causes further damage.

We need a strong, bipartisan coalition of legislators to convince the Vice President to defend the constitution and country. Will you add your name as a citizen cosponsor of this resolution and urge every member of the House and Senate to support it? [[link removed]]
