The
Trump/Pence regime must be thoroughly repudiated. Those who counsel
that impeachment will further divide the country fail to face the
reality that the country is already profoundly divided. Appeasing this
neo-Confederate fascist movement – a movement that is still in congress
as well as the streets – is what led to the deadly and failed coup
attempt led by Trump.
History shows that a failed coup that is not
thoroughly repudiated down the road can lead to a successful coup or a
“legitimate” return to power fueled by vengeance. It is only the action
of the millions of people who desire a just world taking to the streets
in non-violent protest that can compel those in power to be resolute and
remove Trump from power now.
