Dear friend,
Before last week, I would have never believed that on my 4th day of work in the U.S. Congress, our sacred temple of democracy would be breached by an extremist mob. But that was the painful reality we faced last Wednesday.
This violent and seditious attempt to attack lawmakers must be condemned at every level. We not only saw a brutal assault on our institutions but a tragic loss of life. I am grateful that the overwhelming brave men and women of the Capitol Police displayed great bravery and courage in protecting us and allowing our work to continue later that day.
Wednesday’s attacks only reaffirm my commitment to serving the people of Indiana’s 1st District. We cannot give in to the violence of a few extremists. I believe we must continue the important work that the American people elected us to do and also strengthen our connections to those across the aisle. In these times, we must work to heal divisions. That is the only way forward.
As always, I pledge to be a Member of Congress who works to listen and address the needs of our district. That means vaccine distribution, investments in our economy, high quality education, and addressing the social unrest in our nation. If you are able, consider chipping in to support my people-first, bipartisan work in Congress.
Team, thank you so much for your support. In these times, it means more than you know.
Sincerely,
Frank
